A 59-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday on a felony drug possession charges after officers found approximately 3.3 grams of methamphetamine, assorted pills and paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, officer struggled to detain the woman, identified as Sylvia Dahl, after being called to the 3300 block of South Carson Street at 1:14 a.m. for a disturbance.
The woman was arrested on scene for obstructing, resisting and delaying an investigation. At jail the woman continued to be uncooperative. Deputies located a bag of methamphetamine in her shoe and a ziplock bag containing several pills in her clothing in which she did not have a prescription. Also located were glass pipes, one with melted methamphetamine residue and unmelted meth crystals stuck to the side, according to the arrest report. Bail: $6,549.
In other arrests: A 50-year-old Clear Lake, Calif., man, Jeffrey Karl Donovan, was booked into jail Tuesday on a felony five-count warrant for credit card fraud and a gross misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to commit a crime. The warrants were issued Oct. 8, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Donovan also had a misdemeanor warrant from December 2013 for failure to appear. Bail: $5,263.
— A 56-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 8:59 p.m. at a Clear Creek Drive residence on suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the residence after a reporting witness said a woman had been punched in the face.
Officers arrived and met with the victim who was crying. She had blood around her nose, on her clothes and on her right hand. She also had a laceration to her right hand and was later taken to the hospital.
Deputies approached the residence and could see a large amount of blood on the ground outside the door. The glass window inside the door was broken. The suspect met the officer at the door and told the officer the victim is his step daughter and she lives with him and his wife.
The suspect said he pays for the victim’s cell phone and lately she has been disrespecting him so he wanted to take it back. He said he when approached the female and tried to take the phone she attacked him with a space heater. He said he grabbed her and put his palm on her face and pushed her out the front door, which is how he believes she got the bloody nose, the report states. The man said he never punched the victim and that she began pounding on the front door and she broke with window, cutting her hand.
The victim said the man cornered her while she was in the bathroom and said he wanted the cell phone back because he paid for it. She said he was angry and yelling at her. She said she pushed the man in the chest to get away but that he punched her in the head, knocking her down and then kicked her. In her defense, she said she grabbed a space heater and hit the man.
She told deputies he came after her again, punching her in the head, knocking her to the floor and then drug her out by her hair and locked the door. She said she pounded on the window door and broke the window. The officer determined the man to be the primary aggressor and arrested him. Bail: $3,137.
— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 12:18 a.m. in the area of William and I-580 on a misdemeanor warrant, contempt of court. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop for expired tags and learned through dispatch the man had a warrant. Bail: $500.
— A 21-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Tuesday, 3:55 p.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Nov. 3, 2015 out of Sparks Justice Court.
— A 38-year-old transient was booked into jail Tuesday, 4:45 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear, issued Oct. 29, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
— A 41-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Tuesday, 4:15 p.m. in the area of William and Nevada streets on misdemeanor charges of hit and run of an occupied vehicle, driving on a suspended license, obstructing and delaying and officer and failure to obey a stop sign. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the area and spoke with the victim who advised the suspect was north on Nevada Street and failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection of William Street.
The suspect checked to see if the victim was OK and then sped off going northbound, however she left the front license plate of her vehicle after the collision, the arrest report states. Around 15 minutes later the female suspect returned to the scene advising her “friend” was the driver and she was the passenger, according to the arrest report.
After interviews it was determined the woman was actually driving and she admitted to operating the vehicle after she was advised she was under arrest. Bail: $1,798.
— A 42-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 6:36 p.m. at Raley’s in the 3700 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny. The woman allegedly selected beauty products, alcohol, nicotine gum and other products and concealed them in her purse. She then bought $27.46 worth of other merchandise withe a food stamp card but made no attempt to pay for the concealed items in her purse. When she left the store, security confronted her and escorted her back inside. The items in her purse were valued at $295.37, according to the arrest report. Bail: $352.
— A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 8:32 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on misdemeanor suspicion of trespassing. The man had been trespassed from a casino three times since Nov. 5, was found inside the casino again. Bail: $242.
