A 47-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Saturday in the area of Stewart and William streets on suspicion of felony DUI with a prior conviction and other charges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Sheila Ann Edwards was arrested at 11:18 p.m. According to the booking report, a deputy made a traffic stop after observing the vehicle the suspect was driving didn’t have functioning brake lights and that the owner had two warrants issued for her arrest.
During the traffic stop the suspect was unable to provide proof of insurance. The deputy smelled an odor of alcohol and asked if she would participate in field sobriety tests. The woman stated she had three beers earlier in the evening and was using two medications for high blood pressure and COPD, according to the arrest report. The woman showed signs of impairment. She provides a preliminary breath test of .151. She was taken into custody. At jail she provided two evidentiary breath tests that registered .129 and .127, the arrest report states.
Her criminal history revealed a prior felony conviction in 1996 for DUI in California.
Edwards was booked for DUI with a prior felony conviction, driving without a valid license, non-functioning brake lamp, no proof of insurance, and gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor contempt of court warrants. $22,261.
In other arrests: A 22-year-old Casterville, Calif., man, Dominick Gonzalez, was booked into Carson City jail Sunday, 6:31 p.m. on a felony warrant, stalking with use of electronic means. The warrant was issued Sept. 14, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. He also faces a misdemeanor warrant for contempt of court, issued Aug. 18, 2015. Bail: $18,000.
— 36-year-old Carson City man, Donald Charles Muscott, was arrested Saturday, 4:41 p.m. in the area of College Parkway on felony suspicion of burglary, parole and probation violation and misdemeanor contempt of court. He’s being held without bail pending a hearing.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man, Jason Way, was booked Friday into Carson City Jail on felony warrant charges of burglary and attempted theft. The warrants were issued June 11 and June 25, 2015. He’s being held without bail pending a hearing.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 5:48 a.m. in the area of South Carson Meadows Drive and Como Street on a gross misdemeanor charge, destruction of property.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to 1200 block of Goldfield at 5:20 a.m. in reference to a property damage report. The victim called 911 to report her front door had been smashed and could see a man walking toward South Carson Meadows Drive and Como streets.
The glass door to the residence had been shattered and there was a potted plant near the front door that was overturned. It appeared the plant had been thrown agains the door, according to the arrest report. The officer was able to outline a shoe print in the dirt.
A deputy located the suspect walking from the area of Goldfield Drive. He was wearing a black hat, gray sweatshirt with a hood and jeans. The deputy advised the subject was grossly intoxicated.
The officer asked the victim if she would be able to identify the subject if she saw him again. She said she was unsure because it was dark. The victim later identified the man as being the correct size and wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his hat.
Officers spoke with the suspect who said he walking home from a bar and denied any wrongdoing. The officer told him there was a shoe print at the house and asked if they could check his shoes against the shoe print. The man agreed. He took off his shoes and handed them to the officer.
The officer took the shoes to the victim’s home and was able to make out an exact match. The victim also advised she had security cameras surrounding the residence. Officers checked the video which revealed the suspect walking from the front of the home to the garage. The video showed the man’s face and the clothes he was wearing. The suspect was arrested and taken to jail on a gross misdemeanor charge of property destruction. Bail: $2,500.
— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 9:10 a.m. in the 2700 block of Sneddon Way on a misdemeanor warrant, contempt of court, issued Sept. 22, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
— a 44-year-old transient woman was arrested Friday, 1:29 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Carson Street on misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. According to the arrest report the woman was yelling at customers in a parking lot of a gas station. Officers arrived and observed the woman yelling at customers. Based on the actions she was arrested. Bail: $242
— A 35-year-old woman was arrested Friday, 2:13 a.m. in the 4800 block of Heron Road on a misdemeanor warrant, contempt of court, issued Oct. 8, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court for failure to complete community service. Bail: $804.
