A Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday, 8:33 p.m. in the area of College Parkway and Nye Lane on four misdemeanor charges including violation of bail conditions, driving on a revoked license for DUI, no proof of insurance and driving on a suspended registration, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, an officer was driving eastbound on College Parkway and saw a silver GMC Suburban with Nevada plates. A check of the plates showed the vehicle registration had been suspended. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, 52, who was unable to provide current insurance, the report states.

A computer checked showed the woman had a revoked license for DUI and that she is on Alternative Sentencing with the condition “do not drive without a valid license.” The expiration for the revocation period is Jan. 14, 2015.

She was arrested. Bail: $4,986.

— A 35-year-old transient was arrested Tuesday, 7:15 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street on a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny. According to the arrest report, the man allegedly entered the store and began placing items in a shoulder bag.

Store security told deputies the man opened DVD and Blue-Ray cases that he took and peeled off the security strip that causes the security scanners to activate. The man took approximately $150 worth of merchandise and then left the store without paying, the arrest report states.

The man told the arresting deputies that he took the items because he is down on his luck and is tired of seeing his friends get help and he can’t get any, according to the arrest report.

Among other items the man took were dog treats and soda. He said he lives with several friends and does not have a house of his own. Bail: $352.

— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 5:08 p.m. in the area of Saliman and Fifth streets on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and minor consuming alcohol. According to the arrest report, an officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle that had a broken rear tail light and stopped past the stop line at Fairview and Stanton. The vehicle was occupied by four males. Officers could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The officer made contact with the driver who was cooperative. The officer asked the driver if he had been at Mills Park with others smoking marijuana and asked if there was any marijuana in the vehicle. The driver said there wasn’t.

The officer decided not to cite the driver for the violations but asked if he could do a K9 sniff of the vehicle. The driver told the officer no because the dog would likely alert on the car. The officer asked all the occupants to exit the vehicle. The 18-year-old nearly fell over as he was getting out of the vehicle. He had a strong odor of alcohol and became argumentative. He submitted to a preliminary breath test with a .254. Officers located three bottles of liquor: Fireball, Bombay Sapphire and Bacardi. In the trunk was a large multi-colored glass water bong and a glass pipe. The suspect arrested said the pipe was his. Another male was cited for the bong. Bail: $1,374.
