Carson city deputies arrest five on felony charges during weekend patrol

A 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday on a felony charge of possession of a stolen vehicle after he had been stopped and then took off running from officers before being caught, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

James Dean Anderson was taken into custody at 4:38 p.m. in the 1500 block of Continental Drive. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer and driving on a revoked license for DUI.

According to the arrest report, officers tracked a black Saturn with California plates that was driving eastbound on Highway 50 East near Lompa Lane. The deputy conducted a high risk stop on the vehicle in the 3200 block of Highway 50 East. The drive exited the vehicle after several commands to remain inside and to place his hands where the officer could see.

Anderson took off running southbound across Woodside Drive where he was found, stopped and arrested. Bail: $26,549.

In other felony arrests:
— A 45-year-old Sparks woman, Melanie Margaret Patellaro, was arrested Friday, 11:24 p.m. at Highway 50 East and Nye Lane on felony warrant charges of grand larceny and burglary issued out of Reno Justice Court. She also had a misdemeanor warrant charge of obtaining money under false pretenses. The vehicle the woman was driving was stopped because it did not have license plates. Bail: $30,500.

— A 33-year-old man, Rex Kevin Warren Jr., was booked into Carson City Jail Saturday on a felony fugitive from justice warrant, and three misdemeanor warrants out of Dayton Township and Carson City Justice Court. The felony warrant was issued out of the California Department of Corrections. It has a no-bail hold. Bail for the three misdemeanor charges: $4,510.

— A 32-year-old Dayton man, Dustin Bleu North, was arrested Friday, 4:22 p.m. at a Dayton residence on multiple warrant charges out of Carson City Justice Court, including a felony warrant for dissuading a victim from reporting a crime; misdemeanor contempt of court, and two failure to appear warrants. Bail: $17,905.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man, Tyler Richard Dziuk, was arrested Friday, 7:21 a.m. in the 1600 block of East Long Street on felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and three misdemeanor charge including possession of drug paraphernalia and two contempt of court warrants.

Officers were let inside a residence on a warrant service for the man, who was found hiding in a closet in the hallway. Prior to being placed into cuffs, officers found a brown case with drug paraphernalia in his right pants pocket that included a baggie of methamphetamine, an orange straw with meth inside, a metal spoon with white residue, tin foil, cotton swabs, two syringes and a lighter. Bail: $7,137.

In other weekend arrests:
— A 26-year-old Silver Springs man was arrested Friday, 9:32 a.m. in the area of North Carson Street and East Long on a Lyon County warrant for failure to appear. Bail: $3,000.

— A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 10:44 a.m. in the 1500 block of Sharon Drive on suspicion of domestic battery, a misdemeanor. According to the arrest report, the woman attacked her boyfriend of six years after an argument about a pillow and bed sheets. The man had scratches to his face following the incident. The woman admitted to attacking her boyfriend because a pillow was removed from the bed and was in the garage, and that he had removing bed sheets from the bed. Bail: $3,137.

— A 66-year-old Carson City ma was arrested in the 3000 block of North Roop Street for violation of probation. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the area for a report of a man panhandling. He had a slight odor of alcohol on his breath and told the officer he had drank a beer earlier. The officer had observed the man buy a 24-ounce can of Budweiser Clamatto. The man is on probation supervision with a condition to not possess or consume alcohol. He at a preliminary breath test of .47 He was arrested. Bail: $3,000.

— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 6:39 p.m. at Airport Road and Butti on a misdemeanor warrant charge of violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.

— A 19-year-old Carson City woman was booked Saturday into jail on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000.

— A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:16 p.m. in the 900 block of Carson Street on a probation violation warrant. Bail: $3,000.

— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 8:35 a.m. in the 700 block of Sonoma Street on a misdemeanor warrant charge of violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000.

— A 28-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 2:11 p.m. in the 1900 block of East William Street on a misdemeanor charge of battery. The woman admitted to attacking a woman while she was seated inside a car following a dispute about an ex-boyfriend. The suspect is the new girlfriend of the victim’s ex-boyfriend. The incident happened outside a hair salon where the new girlfriend scratched and pulled the hair of the victim while she was inside a car. Bail: $1,137.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Saturday, 9 a.m. on a failure to appear warrant. Bail: $855.

- A 27-year-old Stagecoach, Nev., man was arrested Saturday in the 1100 block of Beverly Drive on four misdemeanor charges including warrant service, domestic battery, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting with violence.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the scene on a report of two men fighting. The two men turned out to be brothers. Officers attempted to detain one of the men, who resisted and had to be tasered when he told an officer “I ain’t going to jail” and then proceeded to do roll over and sweep of the officer’s leg, the arrested report states. Officers detained the man, who had a methamphetamine pipe in his right side jean pocket. Bail: $10,140.

— A 45-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Sunday, 12:56 p.m. at a pharmacy in the 1900 block of North Carson Street. He faces gross misdemeanor charge of child neglect and endangerment. The man reportedly was witnessed by three people hitting his 8-year-old son several times inside a vehicle. The boy had injuries, redness and swelling marks, on his arms. The father stated he punished his son for behaving badly at church. He admitted to hitting him numerous times on the arms and hands, the arrest report states.
The officer arrested the man for using excessive force to punish the boy, the arrest report states. Bail: $2,500.

— A 50-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 2:25 p.m. in the area of Northridge Drive and Lompa Lane on suspicion of gross misdemeanor child endangerment, misdemeanor DUI and four other charges.

According to the arrest officers responded to an accident involving three vehicles and spoke with the driver of one of the vehicles, a Hyundai. The vehicle was occupied by two young children, the woman’s grandsons, both appearing to be under the age of 5, who were treated by Carson City Fire Department.

Inside the vehicle was a booster seat, but not a baby seat, which the youngest child should have been secured in, the officer states in his report. The woman appeared tired and sleeping as she was talking to an officer, swaying back and forth and side to side. She did not have an odor of alcohol on her and was tested later with a result of .000 for alcohol, the arrest report states.

The woman agreed to standardized field tests, and the officer believed she was under the influence of some type of prescribed or illegal drug that caused her to unsafely operated the Hyundai that resulted in the accident, putting her two grandsons in dangers.

The woman was arrested for charges and read the Nevada Implied Consent. The officer asked if she had a driver’s license and noted that she wanted her purse to remain inside the vehicle, which she said was not hers.

The officer said the purse had to go with her because the officer wasn’t going to leave it in a car the didn’t belong to her. The officer asked the woman if she had something in her purse and the woman said she had some “weed.”

The officer located the purse with about 2 grams of marijuana in it as well as prescription medication that she did not tell the officer she was taking but was prescribed by her doctor. The officer found an empty bottle of Clonazepam, two prescription bottles of Carisoprodol, and a bottle of prescription hydrocodon-Acetaminoph and an unlabeled prescription bottle with aspirin and Motrin inside.

The woman faces the gross misdemeanor child endangerment charge and the following misdemeanors: DUI drugs, due care, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and not having proper child restraints. Bail: $5,770.

— A 19-year-old Moundhouse woman was arrested Sunday, 5:59 a.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. The woman admitted to officers that she hit her husband in the face and kicked him four times in the leg. The woman told the officer: “I hit him. Take me to jail.” Officers observed several small abrasions on the right side of the husband’s face and ear. Bail: $3,137.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 4:28 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Edmonds on a warrant for domestic battery issued Jan. 27, 2012 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.

Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
