A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning on misdemeanor charges after he allegedly stalked his ex-girlfriend, made threats, obsessively sent text messages and then shattered the glass door of her home after punching it.

According to the arrest report, the man showed up at his ex-girlfriend's home in the 200 block of East Hampton before 2 a.m., and stood outside the front door where he continued to knock on her front door and a side window. He was told several times to leave but refused and then became angry, and punched the front window glass using his right fist, breaking the glass and sustaining injury to his right hand.

When officers arrived on the scene, they detained the man and patted him down for any weapons, none of which were found. The ex-girlfriend told authorities that she had ended their relationship several months ago due to the man's temper but that he wouldn't leave her alone and was constantly texting or calling her all day and threatening her son, her son's father and her.

The girlfriend stated she wants nothing to do with the man since ending the relationship. She told the man to stop texting and calling her, but he came to her residence that evening, throwing things at her home, ringing the door bell and trying to get inside, the report states.

The ex-girlfriend stated she looked out the front window and saw the man punch the front glass, causing it to shatter. She signed a citizens arrest form, filled out a statement against the man for the listed charges. She saved the text messages from the man on her cell phone, the report states.

Officers noted the man smelled of alcohol at the time of arrest and that his right hand was bleeding. He was taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital where he was treated for his injury and then arrested.

He admitted to police he broke the glass when he "tapped" on the front window but he denied that he was trespassing, stalking or made any threats to hurt anyone, the report states.

He faces misdemeanor charges of first offense stalking, trespassing, malicious destruction of private property and threats. Bail: $4,153.

As the husband was telling the arresting officer what happened, Streenan was happily agreeing with him, chiming in several times: "See I told you. Take me to jail now," the report states.

Streenan was belligerent toward the arresting officer as he tried to explain to her that there were better ways to get help and committing a crime just to go to jail for her alcohol issue wasn't going to help things the way she wanted.
